Edna Earlene Copple passed away on January 6, 2025, at her home in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.

Edna was born on May 9, 1935, in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clifford Lee and Ava Agnes (Duke) Adams. Edna grew up in Oklahoma and West Texas before moving with her family to the Cleveland area. Edna later graduated from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1953. On September 20, 1953, Edna was united in marriage to William Eugene Copple, Sr. at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland. Edna and Bill initially resided in Cleveland where she worked as a telephone operator. Upon the couple moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma Edna began work as a real estate agent and broker. In 1974, Edna and Bill moved to Ponca City, where she again achieved her dream to be a stay-at-home mom and began selling Avon. During this time, she enjoyed developing family recipes and cooking for everyone as well as many arts and crafts projects, Edna and Bill returned to Tulsa and purchased her current home in 1988, where she has continued to reside. During this time Edna soon began working as a reservationist at Avis, where she worked for over 17 years before retiring. 

Edna loved the opportunity to cook and prepare everyone’s favorite meal and loved sharing her cooking skills with her family. She loved cooking and entertaining in her home, especially playing games with family. Edna had a knack for talking with others and helping them make the right decisions that would benefit them in the future. She also knew when to step back and let someone make a mistake. Among her favorite memories are picnics at the lake, family drives ending with ice cream, traveling, being hostess for family gatherings and holidays, and going to Boston Pool for a special Christmas tree. Edna and Bill had a large garden and spent many hours harvesting and canning vegetables to utilize in winter and share with friends and family. Edna is described as kind, loving, and protective of her children, as well as a supportive wife, Her love for her children was their first example of unconditional love. 

Survivors are her children Deborah Montgomery and husband Charles of Collinsville, Oklahoma; William Copple, Jr. and his wife Virginia of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Brian Copple of Collinsville, Oklahoma; Sean Copple and his wife Christa of Brighton, Illinois; grandchildren Brian Montgomery, Briana Montgomery, Charlie Montgomery, Stephanie Long, Mathias Copple, Anneliese Copple, and Ella Copple, three great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Clifford and Ava, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Copple Sr., sister Marjorie Ava Howard, grandson Steven DeWayne Copple, great granddaughter Cadence Marie Copple, and Ervie Marler.
