Edith Belle Porter passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in Prue, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years, nine months and seventeen days.
Edith was born May 19, 1969, in Decatur Illinois. She was the daughter of Ben Klingler and Sheryl Lynn Harden. Edith moved to Tulsa at a young age where she was raised and received her education. Edith graduated with the class of 1987, from Nathan Hale High School. Edith worked with people the physically disabled for many years before later becoming a nurses aide. In 2003, Edith was forced into retirement due to health issues. On October 14, 2003, Edith was united in marriage to James Kent Porter in Kiefer Oklahoma. The couple established their home in Prue, Oklahoma where they have continued to reside.
Edith enjoyed fishing as well as going to the lake. Edith was a high spirited person, who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed being around little kids and spending time with her family, who she loved very much. Edith attended First Baptist Church in Prue.
Survivors are her husband Jim of the home, two children EMFN Misty Kroeber and her husband EM3 Jeff Kroeber of Guam, Heidi Smithey of Prue, Oklahoma; two sisters Maria Angelica Naranjo of Kingsville, Texas, Cherie Klingler of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ben Klingler, parents Sheryl and Don Harden, two sisters Brandy Lynn Cripe, Rosenda “ButterBall” Phillips and one brother William Cripe III.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Prue First Baptist Church with Rev. Garry McDevitt officiating. Arrangments are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
