Doyle Delano Maxwell, 74, lifelong Cleveland resident, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008 in Tulsa. He was born December 18, 1933 in Cleveland, Oklahoma; the son of Benjamin and Letha ((Potts)) Maxwell.

Doyle was raised and attended school in Cleveland, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1951. He was married to Lucille Joy Nix on November 4, 1961 at the Hallett Baptist Church. The couple have resided in the Cleveland area their entire marriage, raising a son, Kevin Dewayne. Kevin preceded Doyle in death on July 24, 2006.

Doyle was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly thirty years. He also delivered the Tulsa Sunday World for several years after his retirement from the Postal Service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Cleveland.

Doyle is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Lucille of the home; and three sisters, Delores Dobson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, DeEtta Synder of Bixby, Oklahoma and Dadreon Ritchie of Cleveland, Oklahoma. In addition to is son, Kevin, Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Dorlene Maxwell and Della Pauline Maxell; a brother, Don Maxwell and two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the First Christian Church with Emile Bayouth and Stoney Capehart officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Maxwell, Mike Maxwell, Pat Maxwell, Jeff Synder, Jonathan Ritchie and Brian Synder.
