Dorothy Ann Baker, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years three months and fourteen days. Dottie was born August 16, 1940, in Hammond, Indiana. She was the daughter of Joe and Mary (Jablonsky) Oberc. As a young girl Dottie was raised in and attended school in Geary, Indiana. After the completion of her education Dottie worked for a short time for her grandparents at the local drive in restaurant. Dottie later gained employment with Lever Brothers in Hammond, Indiana. Dottie also worked at the Land-O-Frost Packing Company as well as a armed guard for the GSA Plant in Hammond, Illinois. In June of 1979, Dottie moved with her children Mike and Sandra to Mannford, Oklahoma. Dottie began working for Kerr Glass in Sapulpa in 1979 and worked there until the closure of the facility in 1994. She was later introduced and united in marriage to Charles Baker on July 19, 1982. Dottie opened a Puppy Luv Dog Grooming in her home after the closure of glass plant which she operated until 2009, when her and Chuck sold their home and moved to Sand Springs. After the death of Chuck in 2009, Dottie returned to Cleveland for a short time before returning to live with her son Mike in Tulsa due to her failing health. Dottie loved to ride horses, watch old westerns, hunt for mushrooms as well as go hunting and fishing with Chuck. One thing that Dottie loved to do was visit River Spirit Casino in Tulsa when she was able. Survivors are her a daughter Sandra Nobles of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; a son and his wife, Mike and Jaime Ford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a step son, Bryan Baker of Skiatook, Oklahoma; one sister Rose Pike and her husband Bill of Maine; six grandchildren, John Nobles and his wife Hanna, Chris Nobles, Bo Baker, Dusty Agnew, Sierra and Joseph Ford as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Oberc, father Joe Oberc, spouse Chuck Baker and a step daughter Elizabeth Ann Baker. The body was cremated and will be interred in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma on a later date under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
