Doris M. Risinger was born September 17, 1916 in Blackburn, Oklahoma the daughter of Wesley and Maude (Salisbury) Loper. As a young girl Doris grew up in the Blackburn and Cleveland Area. Doris attended schools in Cleveland and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1935. Doris was soon united in marriage to John Risinger at Pawnee, Oklahoma on May 30, 1935 and to this union there are three children Barbara, Dick and Michael. Doris and John established their initial home in Cleveland. John managed CR Anthony Stores in various towns beginning in Bartlesville where they resided for a short time before moving to Tonkawa. John was later transferred to Raymondville, Texas. Doris and John then returned to Oklahoma where John managed the position with CR Anthony Store in Pawhuska in 1947. In 1955, Doris and John then moved Fairfax, Oklahoma. Doris worked for CR Anthony in Fairfax until the death of John in September of 1960. Doris returned home to Cleveland, Oklahoma where she has lived for the past 47 years. Doris worked in Cleveland for Hagbergís Ben Franklin, then Overmanís Insurance until she retired in 1985.

After retiring in Cleveland Doris continued to be was a very faithful and devoted member of the First Christian Church. She would often volunteer for the Cleveland Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels and the Blood Mobile that the First Christian Church hosts. Doris loved being with people once she made the commitment to go do anything she would have a wonderful time. Mrs. Risinger was a lady that would never want to inconvenience anyone to the point that she was selfless. Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter were special times for Doris; she loved getting together with her family that meant so much to her. Mrs. Risinger will be a lady that will be dearly missed.

Doris M. Risinger passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years 8 months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by father Wesley Loper, mother Maude Loper Smart, husband John Risinger, two brothers Lawrence C. Loper and Wesley C. Loper.

Survived by her three loving children Barbara Parent of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Dick Risinger and his wife Ann of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Michael C. Risinger and his wife Debi of Trinity, Texas; one brother Dale Loper of Edmond, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren Mark Parent and his wife Priscilla of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Jenni Roland and her husband Roy of Edmond, Oklahoma; Janet McGinty and her husband Kevin of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Brad Parent and his wife Angie of Ponca City, Oklahoma; John Risinger of Wichita, Kansas; Tracy Downs and her husband Darrell of Owasso, Oklahoma; Lance Risinger of Washington, D.C.; Sarah Hernandez and her husband Jason of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Greg Risinger of Rancho Cucamonga, California; Susan Risinger of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; twenty great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter as well as a host of other relatives, friends and church family.

Graveside services will be held Friday June 8, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Woodland Cemetery and Memorial Services will be at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary of the First Christian Church with Pastor Ronnie Epps officiating under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

Pallbearers will include John Risinger, Lance Risinger, Mark Parent, Brad Parent, Jordan Risinger, Evan Risinger, Jared McGinty and Greg Risinger.

In lieu of flower the family has requested donations be made in memory of Doris Risinger to the: First Christian Church at 100 South Division, Cleveland, Oklahoma 74020, (918)358-3268.
