Doretha Lorene McDaniel

Doretha McDaniel, (Dot) was born on February 20, 1926, in the Wildhorse area of Osage County, Oklahoma to Oscar and Annie Selby. Dot grew up in a large family, she had eleven siblings. She grew up as a Pentecostal Preacher's daughter. She completed the eighth grade. At eighteen her family moved to Avant, Oklahoma. Dot met Lavern McDaniel, and they got married on August 28, 1944. Dot was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She did work for several years at Baxter in Mannford, Oklahoma but mainly she cared for her family.Doretha moved to the Cleveland area in 2000, residing at the Baptist Village until 2021 when she moved into Cleveland Manor. Doretha McDaniel, 98, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.Doretha is survived by her two sons Clifford (Sharon) McDaniel and Kevin McDaniel; two grandchildren Bryan (Vivian) McDaniel and Amanda Good; three great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and three great great great grandchildren; two sisters in laws Judy Selby and Tressa Selby; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Lavern McDaniel; her parents Oscar and Annie Selby; eleven siblings Herman, Nyal, Harold, Arnold, Alton, Donald, Ronald, Darrel (Pete), Helen, Geneva, Evelyn.Direct Burial at the Woodland Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
