Donna Tinsley, lifelong Cleveland resident, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004 at her home in Cleveland at the age of seventy-one years, eleven months and eleven days.
Donna was born on November 25, 1932 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James H. and Sidnie E. Barrett. Donna was raised in Cleveland and attended school there. Shortly after completion of her schooling, Donna was married to Bill Tinsley in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 13, 1948. The couple established their initial home in Cleveland where they raised their three daughter, Connie, Billie and Bette.
In the early years of their marriage, Donna worked as a waitress in numerous restaurants in Cleveland. In the early 1980's, Donna established her own house cleaning business and worked for numerous families throughout the Cleveland and Keystone Lake area. While serving as a house cleaner for the late Fred Brady, she was hired as his caregiver and worked in that capacity with her husband, Bill for several years.
Donna was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Cleveland where she had attended since she was a young child. She was a member of the Pawnee County Democratic Women Party and the American Legion Auxiliary. Donna enjoyed watching the University of Oklahoma Sooners play football and was an avid antique collector. She spent countless hours shopping at garage sales and conducting her own sales. Additionally, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Bill Tinsley, of the home; three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Danny Sloan, Wynona, Oklahoma, Billie and Jimmy Moreino, Terlton, Oklahoma, Bette and Charles Hagberg, Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Michelle Hamilton, Collinsville, Oklahoma, Tammy Sunday, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Steve Brown, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lori Salazar, Owasso, Oklahoma, Darryl Stach, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Lisa Glover, Ponca City, Oklahoma and Wayne Versaw, West Valley City, Utah; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruby Brothers and Opal Gray; a brother, Eddie Barrett; and a grandson, Nathan Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the First Christian Church with Dakota Rush officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
