Donna Raye Montgomery was born February 15, 1941 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Luther and Grace Norene (Garrett) Balentine. As a young girl Donna was raised in Hominy where she began her education. She later graduated from Hominy High and continued to reside in Hominy until 1973. At that time she moved to Cushing, Oklahoma. During the time Donna lived in Cushing; she worked at EscottÃs Grocery from 1974 until the early 1990Ãs. On September 19, 1980, Donna was united in marriage to Ray Montgomery. The couple remained in Cushing until 2000 when they moved to Drumright where she has continued to reside. Following her job at EscottÃs, Donna decided to go with Ray as an over the road truck driver. The couple worked as a team for several years until 1995. In 1995, Donna accepted employment with Quick Set in Bristow. Donna continued working at Quick Set until the closure of the facility in 2005. Donna had many things she enjoyed doing. Some of them included embroidery work, cross stitching and making Barbie clothes. She also spent numerous hours reading. Most of all in life Donna enjoyed spending quality time with her family and church family at the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Cushing, Oklahoma. Donna passed from this life on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at her home in Drumright, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years 10 month 21 days. Survivors are her husband Ray Montgomery; three children Patty Martin of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Theresa Sneed of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Hiltzman of Cushing, Oklahoma; two brothers Gene Balentine of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Gary Lee Balentine of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, one sister Jeweldene Branstetter of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Luther Balentine, Grace Norene Rowe, one brother Jerry Balentine as well as one sister L'Berta Whitten. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2011 at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Larry Huff officiating under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
