Donna Belle Maxwell long time residend of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the age of 64 years, eleven months and twenty seven days. Donna was born November 5, 1948, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lester K. and Verona Maxine (Javine) Copeland. As a young girl Donna grew up and attended school in Barnsdall as well as Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Donna was united in marriage to Vernon L. Maxwell on June 12, 1965 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. After their marriage the couple established their home in Cleveland where they have continued to reside. Donna gained employment at the Cleveland Hospital and later at the Cleveland Nursing Home. During her time at the Cleveland Nursing Home, Donna returned to school and obtained her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Donna accepted employment at the Hominy Nursing Home and continued working there until the closure of the facility in 2005. Donna and Vernon loved to travel. The couple took many vacations and loved going to Branson. She enjoyed going fishing and hunting as well as taking a drive to see the scenery. Donna spent many hours tending to her flowers and reading. Donna loved going to the movies and would always get popcorn. Mexican food was DonnaÃs favorite food. Donna has been a member of the First Assembly of God Church for many years and loved teaching young children about Jesus in Sunday school. Many friends and relatives have described Donna as a ìvery special person.î Survivors are her loving husband Vernon of the home; one brother J.B. Copeland of Minnesota, Joann Merceal of Osage, Oklahoma and many other nieces and nephews who will mourn her passing. Donna was preceded in death by her father Lester K Copeland, mother Verona Copeland, brother Leslie K. Copeland, Jr. and sister Bertha "Benna" Jane Copeland. Church services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in the sanctuary of the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
