Donna Lou Davis

Services for Donna Davis, 69, of Cleveland, Oklahoma will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Terlton Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Villines and Pastor Scott Watkins officiating. Musical selections will be performed by Robert Annett. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Donna Lou was born August 10, 1946, in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Grover Columbus and Helen Retha (Adams) Alburty. As a young girl Donna was raised in Osage. The family later moved to Cleveland where she began her education and later graduated high school with the class of 1964. Following graduation Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life Garry Lee Davis on September 26, 1964. After spending two years in the Armed Forces with her husband, they started a family in 1968, with the birth of their son, Tim. Donna was a housewife and mother for the next eight years until accepting employment with Lloyd E. Rader Center in Sand Springs. Donna was employed as Secretary to the Superintendent for 33 years, retiring in 2009.

Donna was always a joy to be around. She loved spending time with family and friends. Donna had recently taken up golf and always enjoyed the chance to go play a round. Probably her most favorite thing to do was to shop as well as going to antique stores and flea markets when she could. Donna enjoyed traveling; she and Garry took many trips on their motorcycle with several friends and family members for many years throughout the United States. Donna was enjoyed volunteering and helping others when possible. She was a member of the Philomathic Club and has been serving as a Cleveland City Council Member for Ward 1 since 2004.

Donna passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, seven months and twenty days.

Survivors are her son Tim Davis and his wife Lori of Tulsa, Oklahoma, siblings Carolyn Vaughan of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Norma Jean Tisher of Muskogee, Oklahoma, G.C. Alburty of Borger, Texas, Jimmy Alburty of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Johnny Alburty of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Arthur Breeden of Bristow, Oklahoma and a host of other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Donna was preceded in death by her husband Garry Lee Davis.
