Donald Harden

Donald Harden, age 77, passed away January 14, 2008 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Don was born May 16, 1930 in Dearing, Kansas the son of Major, Sr. and Caldonia (Fields) Harden. As a young man Don was raised and received his education if Coffeyville, Kansas where he graduated high school. Soon after high school Don entered into the service of his country in the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and was later honorably discharged. Upon his discharge Don returned to Coffeyville where he gained employment with a local business. In the 1960s, Mr. Harden moved to Bartlesville where he accepted a position with the Price Family as there domestic worker. In 1984, Don was united in marriage to Sheryl (Cripe) they made their initial home in Tulsa and Don accepted employment with Crane Carrier where he continued to work until his retirement in the early 1990s

Don enjoyed watching the 700 Club on television, reading his Bible, and taking care of his Akita dogs. He also loved his family, children, grandchildren dearly.

Donald is survived by his son Ronald Dean Harden of Wichita, Kansas, two daughters Brenda Jean Boudreaux of Wichita, Kansas, Kathy Wilson of Wichita, Kansas, five step children Edith Belle Porter of Prue, Oklahoma, Cherie Renee Klingler of Jenks, Oklahoma, Iva Rosenda Phillips of Farmingville, New York; William "Bill" Anton Cripe of Illinois, Maria "Cica" Angelica Naranjo of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; six sisters Bessie Taylor, Hazel Prim, Amie Roberts, Mayme Harden, Elnora Monroe, Norma Jean Poncill; two brothers Major Harden, Jr., Elmer Harden as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded by five brothers Arthur, Tom, Andrew, James and Garvin Harden; one sister Mabel Pitts.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home is in charge of handling the arrangements.
