Donald Edward Smith was born April 12, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Paul and Louise (Edwards) Smith. Don was raised and attended his initial education in Sapulpa. In 1963, he moved with his family to the Keystone Lake area near Cleveland and completed his education with the Cleveland High School Class of 1966. Upon completion of his high school education, Don was inducted into the service of his country in the United States Air Force. After a tour in Viet-Nam, Don returned home when his father suffered a heart attack. He was then honorably discharged and traveled to Los Angeles for a year with his older brother and worked for a company called Rapid Blueprint as a motorcycle messenger. He then returned to Cleveland and accepted employment with the Indian Electric Cooperative for short time, also attending Tulsa Junior College and Tulsa Vo-Tech. He was married to Charleen Tomlin on April 17, 1971. After working for Flow Management in Sapulpa for a short time, Don founded Integrator Services in 1986 to service the Flow Measurement Co. including integration equipment models 2000, 2000K, 1000, circular chart averager, and the strip chart averager. The company also manufactured circuit boards and parts for integration equipment. The company expanded their service to U.G.C. integration equipment and through sister companies Flow Thru Electronics, Innovative Development Systems and Amatec L.L.C. developed software upgrades from Chart 3 DOS system, Intellachart Windows 3.1/ Windows 95, Chart5 Windows NT for integratorÃs and the AMATEC EGM editor for all brands of electronic meters Through Innovative Development Systems, the company has provided the engineering and software support to the natural gas industry in the United States and Canada to design and continually improve systems for gas measurement and gas calculation. Don also sent machines to Pakistan allowing his machines to be used world wide. He enjoyed his work and as a result established homes in Cleveland, Oklahoma, Sargents, Colorado and Branson, Missouri in order to remain close to many areas served by his company. Don and Charleen enjoyed traveling and especially the outdoors. He was an avid four wheel and ATV operator and liked taking friends on trails and old mining roads in Colorado. He also enjoyed spending time on the lake boating. He enjoyed working on any type of electronic device and anything associated with computers and computer software. Don took time to enjoy life to the fullest. Charleen preceded him in death on March 9, 2010. Don has been an active member of the Western Heights Baptist Church in Cleveland when he was in the area. He was responsible for establishing, maintaining and operating the sound and video system in the sanctuary prior to the building of the new church. Don passed from this life on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of sixty-five. In addition to his wife, Don was preceded in death by his father, Paul Smith and a brother, Ronald Smith. Don is survived by his mother, Louise Smith of Branson, Missouri; brother, Paul Smith, Jr. of New Boston, New Hampshire and a special friend, Mary Mills of Cleveland, Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Kings Cemetery in White River, Arkansas with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will be at the Kings Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
