Chapel services for Dolores Raye Woodson will be held 10:00 am Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Watkins officiating. Private burial will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Dolores was born on November 21, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Samuel Tillford and Mabel (Smith) Geurin. Dolores started school in Tulsa and later graduated from Daniel Webster High School. During her time in high school Dolores worked at the Dixie Shop. Immediately following graduation she was united in marriage to the love of her life John William Woodson on May 31, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple established their home in Tulsa where they raised their two sons Bruce and Mark. Dolores worked occasionally at the Orpheum Theater as well as the Belair Drive In at the concession. In 1976, Dolores and Bill moved to the Penninsula Area on Keystone Lake where she has continued to reside until the last few years. Dolores always loved having her family at her home. Christmas stockings were a must for Dolores, which was usually the best gift of all. She enjoyed working outside and mowing with the riding mower. Dolores was also an avid volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives in Cleveland as well as Cleveland Area Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. Dolores loved going to church and was a faithful member of the Terlton First Baptist Church. Dolores passed from this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 81 years, seven months and two days. Survivors are her two children Bruce Woodson and his wife Vanessa of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mark Woodson and his wife Janie of Bixby, Oklahoma; two sisters Frieda Springs of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Olieda Yount of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren Amber Woodson-Douglas, Amanda Hensley, Sam Woodson, Charlie Woodson, Sydney Woodson; three great grandchildren Jordyn Woodson, Emerson Record and William Douglas as well as numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Geurin, Mabel Clawson, husband Bill Woodson and one brother Archie "Bud" Geurin.
