Debra Jean McFarland Maxwell was born February, 24, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Samuel Leonard and Sarah Marie (Jones) McFarland. Debbie was raised and attended school in Cleveland, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1977. Shortly after graduating, Debbie accepted employment as a sales associate for Wal-Mart where she worked for nearly eight years. During this time, she was married to Danny Keith Maxwell on October 9, 1982. The couple made their initial home in Cleveland and resided here their entire married life together except for a couple of years when they lived in Moreland. Debra and Danny had four children, Samuel Allen, Christopher Keith, Michael Montana and Rachel Marie. While residing in Moreland, Debbie attended nurseís training where she earned her certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant. When the family returned to Cleveland, Debbie accepted employment with the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home and worked their for nearly ten years. Debra devoted her life to taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved taking care of them and spending as much time as possible with them. She was described by her family as a loving, giving and compassionate woman who was family-oriented and extremely kind hearted. Her most cherished times where those when her family was around her. Debbie was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, ceramics and taking care of her plants. She enjoyed country music; especially Conway Twitty and Alan Jackson. She also was a Michael Jackson fanatic. She rarely missed an episode of Survivor as this was her favorite television show. She also loved to travel with her family on many trips; most recently on a cruise. Vacations included memorable trips to Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite. It was said that Debra was always ready to enjoy the next adventure. Debra passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at her home in Cleveland with her family by her side at the age of fifty-one. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Randy Joe McFarland; and a granddaughter, Tanis Mitchem. She is survived by her husband, Danny Maxwell of the home; three sons and their wives, Samuel Allen and Misty Maxwell of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Christopher Keith and Jamie Maxwell of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Michael Montana and Melissa Maxwell of Cleveland, Oklahoma; a daughter and her husband, Rachel Marie and Matthew Foster of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard Ray McFarland of Hallett, Oklahoma, Glenn Allen McFarland of Jennings, Oklahoma and Richard Dale McFarland of Hallett, Oklahoma; three sisters, Karen LaVern Morelock of Terlton, Oklahoma, Patricia Ann Monforte of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Ginger Sue Auston of Mounds, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 3, 2010 at Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
