Deborah Gail Rusher was born on December 15, 1964, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She attended school in Keifer, later graduating with the Class of 1983. During her time in school, Debbie was an active part of the band and basketball team. Following high school, Debbie attended OSU in Okmulgee. Debbie soon began working in food service and was the manager of several locations, including El Chico’s at 21st and Memorial, Mazzios’s, and the Delta Café for several years. Debbie always loved the medical field and returned to further her education, obtaining her paramedic license. Upon the completion of her training, Debbie began working for EMSA in Tulsa in 1999. Debbie has worked for EMSA for over 20 years.

Going hiking, camping, playing softball were favorite things she enjoyed doing. However, fishing was what she wanted most. Debbie has traveled to nearly every state park in Oklahoma. Caring for others or spending time in her hammock were things Debbie to enjoy a relaxing day. Debbie has been described as a caring and loving person and loved helping others.


Deborah passed from this life on December 28, 2020, at the age of 56 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her; mother Thomasine Malone and her husband Thomas of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; five siblings Darlene Kielhorn and her husband Cecil of Topeka, Kansas, Dana Pattison and her husband Frank of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Jason Rusher of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Roy Phillips Jr. and his wife Amy of Soldotna, Alaska, Whitney Rusher of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, a special niece Autumn Rusher, her very best friend and buddy Yetta Hixson and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the Jubilee Christian Center in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 pm at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Pastor John Fisher officiating the services. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
