David Wayne Lynch

David Wayne Lynch was born December 15, 1950 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was the son of J. D. and Beulah Marie (Brannon) Lynch. David was raised and attended school in Hartshorne, graduating from Hartshorne High School in 1968. Upon completion of his high school education, David attended a welding school in Tulsa and after completion was employed as a fabrication welder in a shop in Owasso for a few years. His desire to continue his education led him to attending the University of Tulsa where be obtained both his Bachelor and Masterís Degree in History and Education. After becoming a certified teacher with the State of Oklahoma, David initially accepted a position with Liberty Mounds High School as a history teacher. He was later employed by Okmulgee Public School as a high school history teacher and assistant coach. After several years in Okmulgee, David moved to Tulsa where he taught in a Tulsa high school for a few more years before being medically retired. David had a passion for sports and enjoyed watching all sports especially the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane football. David passed away at his home in Tulsa on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the age of sixty-one. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Sarah Kristine and Michael Van Leer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandson, Axton Drake Van Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Janice and her husband, John Carletti of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Sandi Wheeler of Springdale, Arkansas; brother, John and his wife, Carolyn Lynch of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephew, Todd Lynch of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his best buddie, Miss Harley his puggle; numerous other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. Lynch and Beulah Marie Lynch; and a sister, Louise Giannini Following cremation a private family committal service will be held at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy at a later date. Cremation arrangements was entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
