David McLearan, 77, passed from this life on June 7, 2020, at his home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
David was born on June 7, 1943, in Bixby, Oklahoma on the family farm. He was the son of Ocey and Elsie (Ogle) McLearan. David grew up and attended school in in Bixby where he later graduated. David joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for 20 years at the time of his retirement. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force David began working in the construction business. Initially David worked as a sheet rocker and later became a general contractor. He resided in the Atlanta, Georgia area for many years building numerous fast food restaurants and well as many high-end establishments. In 2010, David returned to Oklahoma and made Cleveland his home.
David enjoyed watching westerns and listening to old country music. In his final words of encouragement to others he often said; “I have lived a good life and was happy with what he had accomplished.”
David is survived by his son BJ and daughter Shelly, brother Jackie McLearan and wife Cheryl of Cleveland, Oklahoma. David was preceded in death by his parents Ocey and Elsie McLearan, and his brother Eddie McLearan.
Services will be held June 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm, Thursday at the Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for David at www.chapman-black.com.
