David Junior Weaver

David Junior Weaver, 86, passed from this life on January 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Jennings, Oklahoma. Born on January 6, 1933, in Nicut, Oklahoma, David is the son of Paul Alvin and Vina Viola (Fuller) Weaver. He attended school there until the 6th grade, at which time he tended to the fields with his father at the family farm. Later, he met Hazel Alline Evans of Yale, Oklahoma. The couple wed on August 1, 1953, in Oilton, Oklahoma. David entered the service on November 30, 1954, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, enlisting in the Army. During his service, David was involved in the Korean Conflict. Specialist Third Class Weaver was discharged at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas on February 3, 1958. Upon his return, David and Hazel returned to Jennings, Oklahoma. The couple was blessed with three children; Sharon in 1955, Carol in 1957, and Paulina in 1969. David went to work as a mechanic and a dump truck driver. In 1967, the family moved to Houston, where David began working in construction. He would later begin his own construction company. In 1985, the family returned to Jennings, where David began working for Quapaw Company, eventually becoming a supervisor. On March 25, 2006, David wed Peggy Diane Ross. David retired in 2009.
During his spare time, David would watch football; the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Oilers, and the Oklahoma Sooners are who we watched most. He loved to fish and hunt. Many memories were made catching minnows for bait and shrimping on a boat named SCP (Sharon, Carol, and Paulina). There were lots of “walks” with the grandkids. The kids and grandkids were always told, “You can be anything you want to be, as long as you work hard at it.” David was very supportive of them, as well as proud of his service to his country. Rumor has it, David would tell “tales” at work so well, they were almost believable. His family describes him as a man who worked hard for everything he had.
David is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; 3 daughters, Sharon Stubblefield and her husband Randy of Jennings, Oklahoma, Carol Wilson of Jennings, Oklahoma, and Paulina Kirby and her husband Joey Diaz of Oilton, Oklahoma; 3 step-children, Diane Tillman and her husband Mark of Glencoe, Oklahoma, Bryan Eubanks and his wife Nicole of Atlanta, Georgia, and Chad Eubanks of Pensacola, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister, Margaret Lowe; and one brother, Jimmy Weaver. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hazel; 3 brothers, Silas, Charles, and Kenneth Weaver; a sister, Esther Phelps; and two grandchildren, David Ballard and Johnny Ballard.
