Darrin L. Comer

Darrin Lorrin Comer, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, in Mannford, Oklahoma at the age of 39 years, four months and twelve days.

Darrin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the youngest son of Daniel Leroy and Mary Francis (Ogden) Comer. Darrin began his education in Mannford where he started kindergarten. During his time growing up Darrin was active in baseball and soccer. Darrin completed his education and worked for a short time at the Tulsa Country Club as a grounds keeper. Darrin later began working as a carpenter for Bartley Construction. He later started assembling metal buildings until 2005. At that time Darrin accepted employment with Allied Refrigeration. Darrin worked installing HVAC systems for commercial jobs at various places throughout the United States until he was forced into retirement due to health issues.

Darrin was very dedicated to his son Damon. He enjoyed watching him play sports and was very enthusiastic about helping him become a better athlete. Darrin was also very avid about playing golf. He spent many hours playing at Keystone Golf Club with his dad. The two played in numerous golf scrambles and tournaments together. Darrin was also a very passionate Sooner and Chicago Bear fan. Darrin was an all around sports fan, always reading, watching and listening to sports on television and the radio. Darrin would always read a newspaper from front to back daily. Darrin enjoyed playing pool at the local VFW. Most of all in life Darrin was a devoted father to his son Damon. Always wanting to spend each and every minute of the day with him; who he loved dearly.

Survivors are his one son Damon Comer of Terlton, Oklahoma; parents Danny and Mary Comer of Mannford, Oklahoma; one brother Daniel Comer of Jenks, Oklahoma, one niece Demi Comer of Jenks, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Darrin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Eunice Ogden and paternal grandparents Jack and Vinita Comer.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Chuck Burton officiating. Private burial will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
