Darrell was born on December 1, 1990 in Dalton, Georgia. He is the son of Josephine (Censia Domopoy) and the late Curtis Lee James. Darrell grew up and attended school in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He graduated with the class of 2009. He participated in various sports including Track, football, baseball and wrestling. Wrestling was his favorite sport and he won many awards throughout his sporting career. He was invited to participate in the State Wrestling Tournament earning 6th place. Following high school Darrell enrolled at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he lived for two years. Darrell moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2011 and completed his bachelors degree at OSU Tulsa graduating in 2015. Upon his graduation Darrell gained employment with Macy's Distribution Warehouse in Owasso.
Darrell enjoyed cooking especially outside on the grill. He got his love for cooking from his mom. He also enjoyed playing RuneScape. He had enjoyed video games his entire life and had nearly every game system available growing up. He got that attribute from his dad. He was talented in playing the guitar and ukulele. Darrell also participated in karaoke and had the best dance moves. Often he would be heard singing his favorite songs at the top of his lungs. He had the ability to make everyone in the room laugh and made the people around him feel special and important. He went out of his way to make sure his friends and family were doing and feeling ok. Darrel met the love of his life, Taylor, in 2020 and they had a son, Cooper in 2022. They were the light of his life and brought him so much joy and happiness. He enjoyed making food with Cooper, teaching him new things and watching tv together. He and Taylor were often going to fancy dinners, cooking, and dressing up for events. His love for dressing up started when his grandpa bought him his first cowboy outfit for which he was known as Mr. Dillon. Family was important to Darrell. He had a monthly game night with his brothers and family, and worked jigsaw puzzles with them which was one of his dads favorite pastimes. At Christmas and Thanksgiving he was often found fighting over Aunt Stephanie's cherry cheesecake or having sour face pickle contest with his cousins. He continued enjoying torturing people with sour candies and hot sauce throughout his adult life, laughing as his co-workers would make their sour faces. He also enjoyed the company of his five dogs.
