Funeral services for Loretta Darlene Wilcoxson, of Hominy, Oklahoma will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of the First Assembly of God Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dan Edens and Pastor J.D. Hostutler. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

Darlene was born June 8, 1940 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Howard E. and Eunice Lenore (Plate) Rogers. As a young girl Darlene grew up in the Stillwater area. In 1958, Darlene graduated from Stillwater High School. After graduation Darlene enrolled at Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU, Darlene was one of the Redskin Beauties as well as a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. On July 22, 1961, Darlene was united in marriage to J.H. Wilcoxson, Jr. and to this union there were three children Sherri, Melanie and Jay. After their marriage Darlene and Junior established their home in Arlington, Texas. While living in Texas, Darlene finished her bachelorsí degree in education at Texas Wesleyan in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mrs. Wilcoxson then accepted a teaching position at Erma Nash Elementary in Mansfield, Texas. Mrs. Wilcoxson continued to teach for six years. At that time Darlene and Junior returned to Hominy to help Juniorís father run the family business. In 1973, Darlene and Junior opened Wilcoxson Oil and Service Company selling oil and gas products. Darlene was the backbone behind the operation. Darlene stated that ìshe was her husbandís helperî. In 2004, Darlene and Junior sold the business and retired to begin traveling.

Mrs. Wilcoxson was a lady that always put her family first. She was also a daughter to those that never had one; as well as a sister to those that never had a sister. Darlene was a lady that was always an inspiration to be around. Darlene loved to sing and was even a backup singer for the Kingston Trio in the 1960ís. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority as well as a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland where she served her Lord.

Darlene went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 24, 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 66 years 8 months and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jay.

Survived by her loving husband of over 45 years Junior of the home; two daughters, Sherri Kyker and her husband James of Pleasanton, California; Melanie Borutski and her husband Kevin of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brother, Don Rogers of Hominy, Oklahoma; foster son Roger Fisher and his wife Lisa of Claremore, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, J.G., Jonathan and Jessica Kyker, Lauren, Hailey, Jacob and Daniel Borutsk, Kayla and Lauren Fisher, one sister in law Mary Dell Formby of Pawhuska, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be J.G. Kyker, Jonathan Kyker, Mel Graham, Mike Mackey, Roger Fisher, and Ralph Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will include Orlan Lemler, Howard Bryant, Gene Williams, and J.D. Hostutler.
