Darlene F. Napier, was born April 20, 1922 in Beaver, Kansas to Edward Royal and Effie Edna (Butler) Couchman. As a young girl Darlene was raised in the Wichita, Kansas area were she graduated from East High School. After graduation she was united in marriage to Linton Oliver Napier on October 11, 1947. They remained in Wichita until 1968. During that time Darlene was employed with Beech Aircraft as well as Cessna for several years.
In 1968 Darlene and Linton moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. They started the Napier Glass Shop and Darlene was instrumental in helping Linton operate the shop until his death in 1982. Darlene continued to reside in Cleveland after the death of her husband and in 2000 she moved to Cushing to be closer to her daughter. Darlene moved to Oilton to live with her daughter Linda. In 2004 Darlene moved into the Bristow Nursing Home and had currently been at the Drumright Nursing.
Darlene loved to paint, garden, read her bible as well as religious literature. Darlene spent numerous hours watching religious television programs, listening to gospel music as well as collector of dolls. One of DarleneÃs favorite vacations was when she visited Disney Land in California. Darlene was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Darlene went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday December 5, 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years 7 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Linton, three sisters Wanda Bentley, Treva Bowman, Dorothy Couchman and one brother Marvin Couchman.
Surviving are her two sons, Charles Neal Jenkins of Hutchison, Kansas; Jack Dean Napier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four daughters Linda Darlene Rossman of Oilton, Oklahoma; Brenda Kay Sharp of Conway, Arkansas; Janice Louise Fisher of Houston, Texas; Diana Lynn Mooney of Oilton, Oklahoma; one sister Betty Salisbury of El Dorado, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Dan Edens and Rev. Edgar Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
