Danny Raymond Brown, Sr. was born August 1, 1949 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Guess Uno and Evelyn Veleta Brown. Danny was raised in the Olive area and attended school there, graduating from Olive High School in 1967.
Shortly after graduation from high school, Danny was married to Lillian Ina Wallace on August 4, 1967 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Sapulpa as Danny worked for his father repairing washing machines (Maytag). After a couple of years, Danny gained employment with the John Zink Company working in the assembly unit in Tulsa. He later worked installing units and transferred to Skiatook. The couple moved their home to Prue, Oklahoma in 1978.
In 1981, Danny accepted employment as a correctional officer at the Dick Conners Correctional Facility in Hominy, Oklahoma; working his way up as a supervisor. Danny retired in 1990 after eighteen years of employment with the State of Oklahoma.
Danny enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting. He enjoyed watching Emeril Lagasse's cooking shows and loved to cook. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Osage.
Danny passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of fifty-seven years, seven months and fourteen days.
He is survived by his wife of nearly forty years, Lillian of the home; children, Danny R. Brown, Jr. of Osage, Oklahoma, Rodney Brown and his wife, Daphne of Cushing, Oklahoma, Denae Swearingern and husband, Donnie of Osage, Oklahoma; sister, Sharolyn Sisney of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; mother, Evelyn Brown of Osage, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Dulton and D Swearingen, Mahala and Dannielle Brown and Noah Brown. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Kenneth Oliver Brown and Guess Uno Brown, Jr. and a sister, Frances Christina Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 19, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Osage with Rev. Dean Switzer officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home at the Osage Cemetery.
