Danny Mac Davis, lifelong Enid resident, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2008 at the St. Marys Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of fifty-two years, eleven months and twenty-three days.
Danny was born January 10, 1954 in Caldwell, Kansas. He was the son of Charles G. and Dovie Lee (Jones) Davis. He moved with his family at an early age to Enid, Oklahoma where he attended most of his schooling, including Longfellow Junior High. He later moved to Tulsa for a short time during his high school years, graduating from Jenks High School in 1972.
Upon graduation, Danny returned to Lahoma for a while and then moved to Billings, Oklahoma; all in the Enid area. Danny then attended Autry Technology School in Enid where he became Cleet Certified as a security guard. He worked as a security guard prior to his medical retirement.
Danny enjoyed his family and extended family and the joy and love they brought to his life. He considered obtaining his security guard certification as one of his major accomplishment in life. In addition to spending time with his family, Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to bands in the Enid area. He also liked camping and cookouts at the lake.
He is survived by his step-children, Justin Crouch and Sarah Crouch, both of Enid, Oklahoma; brother and his wife, Johnny Lee and Tami Kelsey Davis and her children and grandchildren of Cleveland, Oklahoma. His extended family included, Willa R. Lane of Enid, Oklahoma; Mike Taylor of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Carol Mills of Oilton, Oklahoma; Janice Green of Enid, Oklahoma; Calvin Bundy and Vernon Purdey, both of Enid, Oklahoma; Ivan and Ronda Honeycutt of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Dovie Lee Davis; and his grandparents, Oren A. and Vera Mills.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Osage Cemetery in Osage with Michael Sparks officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
