Danny Cairl Cox passed away from this life on December 10, 2023, at the age of 86 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Danny was born on September 28, 1937, in Cleveland, Oklahoma the son of Donald Cairl and Duskey Edna (Johnson) Cox. Danny grew up and attended school in Cleveland, graduating with the Class of 1956. Following high school Danny attended Central State University in Edmond before joining the United States Air Force. He was initially stationed at Laredo Air Force Base where he served four years before he was honorably discharged. Danny returned to Cleveland and worked as a milk man for a couple years before accepting a position with Indian Electric. On October 25, 1971, Danny was united in marriage to Geraldine Velma Beaver and the couple established their home in Cleveland. He continued working for Indian Electric until he retired in 1999, after 36 years of employment.
Danny always enjoyed watching girls' softball and coached numerous teams while his kids were growing up. He always liked woodworking, making several things for his family and friends. Summer vacations to the Western United States were always yearly events. Coffee at McDonalds, going to the Hickory House and walking at the high school gym were daily events. Danny had recently started riding motorcycles, which he loved doing. Danny was currently a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children Danny Cox, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Turpin, Oklahoma, Tammy Lee Parrish and her husband Johnny of Oologah, Oklahoma, Zachary Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Angela Hughes and her husband Dale of Maramec, Oklahoma, and Lauren Smith of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three siblings Norma Lee Fernandez of Oologah, Oklahoma, Carey Cox of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cody Cox of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Edna Cox, and his wife Geraldine.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, December 14, 2023, at the Western Height Baptist Church with Pastor David Head officiating. Entombment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
