Mass services for Cynthia Cox Whitton of Mannford, Oklahoma will be held Monday, January 30, 2006 at 10:00 am in the sanctuary of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with Father Bruce Brosnahan officiating. Rosary services are Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Burial will be at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Cindy was born September 4, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to T.H. and Mary (Cody) Cox. Cindy grew up and received her education in Hominy. In 1975, Cindy graduated from Hominy High School. After graduation Cindy enrolled at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 1979, she graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Education. On August 6, 1983, Cindy was united in marriage to Jerry Whitton. Cindy and Jerry continued to reside in Stillwater. Cindy later graduated with her Masters Degree in Education in 1985. Upon graduation she accepted employment with the Stillwater School District. She also held positions at Perkins and Hominy Schools. In the late 1980ís Cindy gained employment with Stephens development Center. After several years with Stephens Development Center, Cindy began working with Sooner Start in Tulsa. Cindy was currently employed with Sooner Care as a Guidance Counselor.

After the birth of Cindy and Jerryís daughter Rachel, she would spend countless hours with her. They would travel to horse shows, riding horses, attending school functions as well as helping with her school activities. Cindy also loved to read, attending church and frequent different restaurants. Cindy also loved to spend time with Jerry and Rachel at the Big Cedar Lodge near Table Rock Lake. Cindy was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cindy passed away Friday January 27, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years 4 months and 23 days. She was preceded in death by father T.H. on September 24, 2003.

Survived by her loving husband, Jerry of the home; daughter, Rachel Whitton, of the home; mother Mary Cox of Hominy, Oklahoma; sister Maria Sue Biard and her husband Joe of Houston, Texas; paternal grandmother Nell Tilley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; niece and nephew, Marial and Jared Biard of Houston, Texas as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will include Greg Quick, Jim Hale, Grant Quick, Dexter Wayne Bellis, Erick Bellis, Tom Dyer and honorary pallbearers are Lou Hale, Joe Biard, and Jared Biard.
