Constance Emily Bulcavage

Connie Emily Bulcavage, died Tuesday evening November 28, 2006 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1989, son Frederick; three sisters Pauline, Christine, Helen; two brothers Anthony, William and one granddaughter Celeste Angela.

Connie was born in Maizeville, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1918 to the late Martha and Kaspar Petkowsky. While her mother sang in the choir at Our Lady of Siluva Church in Mazeville, Connie learned to speak and read Lithuanian. ìBig Kunukeeî as she fondly called herself enjoyed ethnic food, including pierogies and halupkies. Mrs. Bulcavage resided in Gilberton, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania for most of her married life. Connie was united in marriage to Frank Bulcavage at Maizeville, Pennsylvania on October 5, 1940.

Connie worked as a housekeeper and health care aide in her early years, before becoming a homemaker and raising her children. She always helped her children out and enjoyed getting together with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During her early years, she enjoyed traveling to New York City and its sights. She loved to take plane trips to Nevada and Oklahoma. Mrs. Bulcavage later resided in Vienna, Virginia and enjoyed visiting the White House and other sights in the area. Connie has been living in Cleveland, Oklahoma since 1999.

Connie loved singing in the St. Josephís Lithuanian Catholic Church Choir. She also enjoyed participating at the annual Lithuanian Day program at Lakewood Park. Some of her favorite interests were reading newspapers, American Astrology and writing notes. Her favorite television game show was Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed the Billy Urban Radio Polka Party from Shenandoah, Pennsylvania as well as the Lawrence Welk, Billy Graham and Oral Roberts television shows. Connie was a very holy person and loved reading the Bible and religious books daily. These were her greatest inspirations in life. Mrs. Bulcavage enjoyed playing bingo, music, and having many laughs with the Cleveland Manor staff and residents. Her favorite flowers were red roses and pink carnations.

Mrs. Bulcavage would like to be remembered for her kindness to everyone and always doing good things for others.

Surviving are her children Carol Bulcavage of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rosemarie Hunter of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; Francis Joseph Bulcavage of Vienna, Virginia; Theresa Beall of Vienna, Virginia; Connie Carter and her husband Dale of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one brother Vincent Petkowsky of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania; one sister Annette Howard of Boca Raton, Florida; grandchildren are Terri Melendez and husband Erik, Keith Adam Beall, Edwin Hunter and wife Mandy; John Carter; great-grandchildren Anthony, Jacob, Ryan, Katelyn, Hailey, Eaton, Heather, and Edwin, Jr. as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Josephís Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow in the St. Maryís Greek Catholic Cemetery in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania with Monsignor Anthony Wassel officiating. Rosary services will be at 7:00 pm on Sunday December 3, 2006 and visitation will be from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Louis Truskowsky Funeral Home in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements are under the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma and the Louis Truskowsky Funeral Home in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Constance Bulcavage to the St. Josephís Catholic Church Window Fund at P.O. Box 55, Cleveland, Oklahoma 74020.

Pallbearers will be Keith Adam Beall, David J. Bulcavage, Dale Carter, Allan Jones, John P. Quirk and Harry Simek.
