Cody Lee Hughes, lifelong Cleveland resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the age of 22 years. Cody was born April 4, 1998 in Tulsa to Clarence Gene Wadsworth and Mary Jane Hughes. He was raised and received his education in Cleveland, graduating with the class of 2016. Cody was very loved and especially loved his mother; he enjoyed watching TV game shows and taking long rides in the car, only stopping when he was ready.
Cody is survived by his parents – Gene Wadsworth and Mary Hughes; an Aunt Barbara Stokes and husband Robert of Cleveland; Great Aunts – Rhonda Simmons and husband Tommy of Mountain View, Arkansas, Tella Norris of Jenks, OK, Linda McFadden and husband Marion of Broken Arrow, Janice Dunn and husband Bill of Tulsa, Joyce Darset and husband Jim of Enid; Great Uncles – Elwood Norris and wife Mae of Cleveland, Steve Hughes of Tulsa and special cousins who helped with his care Vanessa Stokes and Amber Edwards; as well as other cousins and family. Cody was preceded in death by a sister Tammy Berry; grandparents Delbert and Margie Hughes, Leonard Wadsworth and Lucille Miller as well as an Uncle Bobby Hughes and great Uncle Gene Norris.
Visitation for Cody will be Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10 – 7pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday March 16th at 11:00am with Pastor David Head officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
