Clifford LeRoy Friend of Osage, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 in Osage, Oklahoma. He was born on June 12, 1914 in Centralia, Oklahoma; the son of Roy and Elsie (Rudd) Friend. He was married Mildred Birdine Tucker on March 17, 1962 and they enjoyed forty-eight years together before her death on December 30, 2010. At a young age, Clifford delivered telegrams for Western Union in Bartlesville. In August of 1942 he enlisted into the service of his country in the United States Army and was stationed in England during World War II. He received the following citations and decorations for his service, World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and EAME Theatre Ribbon. He was honorably discharge in December of 1945. Upon his honorable discharge, Clifford returned to Oklahoma and worked many years as an automobile mechanic at Doenges Ford in Bartlesville, the Dewey Foundry and as a maintenance man for the Tulsa Public Schools. Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Sutterfield of Osage, Oklahoma and Barbara Weaver and husband, Wayne of Owasso, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Teresa Parks and Deborah Sanders of Osage, Oklahoma, and Mark Priest of Dewey; eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; a brother and a sister; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial service and burial for Clifford is tentatively schedules for 2:00 Pm, Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, Oklahoma with Rev. David Head.
