Clifford EuGene Hixson was born on February 23, 1970, in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Charles and Charlotte (Kizer) Hixson, Clifford left this world to join family and the Lord on April 20, 2017, in Ralston, Oklahoma.
Clifford attended Jennings School, where he participated in basketball, track and 4-H until his eighth-grade graduations. Clifford loved 4-H; he served as President, winning many first-place ribbons in baking, and went to the Beaver Bend State Forestry camp. During summers Clifford played Little Dribblers and youth baseball in Yale. Clifford attended high school in Cleveland, Oklahoma. It was there he joined the FFA as a freshman he was Sentinel; showing steers and hogs. Senior year Clifford was FFA President, winning all-around showmanship as well as State Farmer. He graduated high school in May of 1987. Clifford’s loved of working started early in life. In middle school, he worked for Flatt’s Auction in Jennings. During high school Clifford worked for his Grandpa Hixson on the Hixson Farm. After graduating he went to work at Southwest Tube in Sand Springs for three years. Afterwards he worked with his dad building tanks getting to travel and see the United States. On May 22, 1998, Clifford married Cindy Grote in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They have resided in Ralston their entire marriage. Clifford continued tanking until 2012, when he became an inspector. He traveled inspecting until his passing. Clifford was kind, loving, honest and generous man. He was always there with a helping hand, listening ear, encouraging words and a way to make you smile.
Clifford is preceded in death by his grandparents Homer and Lois Hixson, Howard and Ava Kizer and his uncle John Kizer. Survivors are his wife Cindy Hixson of the home, stepchildren Scott Brien and his wife Susan of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Shannon Brown and her husband Mike of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Ryan Weaver and his wife Bambi of Skedee, Oklahoma; parents Charles and Charlotte Hixson of Jennings, Oklahoma; brother Brian Hixson and his wife Beth of Blackburn, Oklahoma; sister Yetta Ann Hixson of Jennings, Oklahoma, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 10:00 am, April 25, 2017 at the Church of God/Crossroads Community Church in Yale, Oklahoma with Paul Travis officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Jennings Cemetery. Friends and family may leave a message online at www.chapman-black.com. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will include Brian Hixson, Bradley Hixson, Braxton Hixson, Clint Hixson, Tracy Hixson and Chris Stout.
