Clarence Paul Watson, of Terlton was born January 17, 1931 in Owosso, Michigan to Jean M. and Clarence Roy Watson. At the age of eight his family moved from Pennsylvania to Port Arthur, Texas. Paul graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas. Paul shortley started college at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. Paul was later united in marriage to Barbara Palmer on September 3, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas. Paul entered the United States Air Force on January 12, 1953 and served during the Korean War. He later was honorably discharged on February 15, 1956. Upon his return from the military he accepted employment with the Underwood Corporation in Houston, Texas as a salesman. He later was employed with Maxwell House Coffee and was a supervisor after more than ten years. Paul later on met Deloris Ann Sasser in Houston, Texas; they were united in marriage in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on January 3, 1980. Paul and Deloris started to drive a tractor trailer throughout the United States and Canada while working for Contract Freighters until 1994. At that time they made their home in Tulsa. Paul and Deloris soon moved to Mannford in 1996 where they have since made their home. In 2001 Paul retired due to health reasons. Paul was a member of the Nazarene Church and the Assembly of God Church. Preceding Paul in death are his parents, wife Barbara and a son David.
Survived by his wife, Deloris Watson, of the home; son Larry Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Deborah Thomas and husband Paul of Paducah, Kentucky; Cheryl Cooper and husband Steven of Newton, Kansas; Sheila Haley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Verna and husband Eric Crabtree of Terlton, Oklahoma; sister, Norma Jean Irving of Freeport, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel, Luke and Michael and Brandon Wingate, Michael and Christopher Haley, Cody Tabor, Richelle Cooper, Ryan Watson, Teresa, Michelle and Stephanie Crabtree,
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Fort Gibson National Cemetery officiated by Pastor Don Yandell. Burial will also be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
