Clara Marie Fieldcamp

Clara Marie Fieldcamp, 96, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Cimarron Pointe Care Center in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Clara was born December 20, 1921, in Cedar Vale, Kansas. She was the daughter of Alvin D. and Alta Marie (Hite) Moore. Clara was raised and received her education in the Andover and Cedar Vale area later finishing school at Andover High School. In the early 1950’s, Clara moved with her children to the Cleveland area. On March 12, 1959, Clara was united in marriage to John Willis Fieldcamp in Sedan, Kansas. The two established their home in Cleveland. In 1962, Clara and Willis purchased the Hominy Café which they operated until 1964. They then sold the operation and moved to Elk City, Oklahoma buying a convenience store and motel. In 1974, they returned to Cleveland and purchased the Hominy Café once again. Once again selling the café this time they managed the convenience stores in Hominy and Fairfax until they retired.


Clara loved to read especially romance novels. She was also an excellent cook which was one of the reasons they were successful in the restaurant business for many years. Clara loved flowers and going camping with Willis. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Willis Fieldcamp, two daughters Karen Sue Hart and Judith Ann Hansard; brothers Charles Moore, Donald Moore, Russell Moore and one sister Mildred Coots. Survivors include daughter Sharon Lea Sherman, one son, sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
