Christopher David (Chris) Smith, age 42, of Broken Arrow, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa. Chris was born April 30, 1980, in Tulsa to Robert David and Lori Ann Smith. He was raised and received his education in Broken Arrow, graduating high school there in 1998. Following high school, he went to work for Tulsa Office Furniture before going to work for Quinlan Interior Services as an installer. Chris was united in marriage to Laila Bougouba on September 6, 2019, on his grandfather’s farm in Jenks.
Chris loved guns and knives and was learning how to make knives and had a vast knowledge of guns. He loved his family and his dogs immensely.
Those that survive include his wife, Laila; sons - Aidan, Zayne, Kacem and Elias; father, Robert David Smith; mother, Lori Ann Schmeling; two sisters - Heather Clow and her husband Tim, and Megan Schmeling; in-laws, Ali, and Sharon Bougouba; sister-in-law, Melissa Baig and her husband Rick, brother-in-law Adam Bougouba; nephew’s – Jackson, and Rayane; and nieces – Harper, Morgan, Madelyn, Lilia, Amina, Alia, Hannah, Cara, and Zahra. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hershel and Lorraine Smith, Bob and Marilyn White and a bonus father Curtis Schmeling.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 19, 2022, in the Chapman-Black Chapel. A private family burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, OK. Arrangements and services are under the care of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, OK. www.chapman-black.com
