Cheryl Lee Tabor passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 in Jennings, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Cheryl was born June 13, 1951, in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Walton Leo “Jack” Sr. and Norma (Stice) McCalip. Cheryl started school at Parkland Oklahoma and graduated with class of 1969 from Adair High School. Following graduation, she became a nurse’s aide. In 1971, Freddy Eugene Stice was born to Cheryl and Johnny Jones Sr. which was the happiest moment in her life. In 1979, Cheryl became an EMT/Paramedic working at Drumright Memorial Hospital. Cheryl took a break from nursing and started driving a truck for Miller Trucking, out of Stroud. Cheryl returned back to working as an aide and med aide which was her passion. In 1989, Cheryl married Rod Tabor in Miami, Oklahoma. In 1989, returned to school and received her LPN license. Cheryl worked at many nursing homes with Cleveland Manor being her home job. Cheryl also did home health until she retired in 2015.
Cheryl enjoyed fishing, dancing and listening to music. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Norma McCalip, her brother Jack McCalip Jr., grandson Devin Stice, grandparents George and Hattie Stice, grandmother Allie McCalip and brother-in-law Tommy Dibben.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law Freddy and Kathryn Stice of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, brother Ronnie Hamby of Chandler, Oklahoma, sister Carol Sue Dibben of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Cathey Owen of Jennings, Oklahoma, grandkids, Austin Stice of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Ashley and Dewayne Bonniger of Cleveland, Oklahoma, great grandkids, Daysen and Braxton Bonniger, niece and nephews, Lindsey Flebbe of Montrose, Colorado, Micheal Dale Hamby of Chandler, Oklahom, Anthony “Trey” Crary of Jennings, Oklahoma, Joshua Owen, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and brother in law Levi Owen and numerous “Bonus Children” and grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Crary, Brandon Crary, Doug Prill, Jerry Flager, Dustin Sweatt, Lisa Jones, Steve Tilley, Terry Estes and Rocky Farrow.
Chapel Services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 2:00 pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Willis Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
