Charles R. Whitworth, was born August 22, 1942 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Carl Virgil and Juanita Mae (Madewell) Whitworth. Charlie was raised in the Maramec area and later began attending school in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Soon after Charlie finished his education he moved to California. Charlie was united in marriage to Alice Herold in 1958 and to that union there are three daughters Brenda, Kathy and Joanna. He later began working for Rockwell International in the early 1960ís. Shortly there after in the mid 1960ís Charlie started his own company Whitworth Trucking in Orange County, California.

Charlie was the owner and operator of Whitworth Trucking for many years. In 1976 Charlie sold his trucking company and moved to Olive, Oklahoma. Upon his arrival in Olive he gained employment with City Vending in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charlie worked for City Vending until 1980. In 1980 Charlie started working at Showbiz Pizza as a Electrical Technician. While working for Showbiz Pizza Charlie would travel to many different places opening new restaurants as well as trouble shooting technical problems. After several years Charlie was promoted to District Manager and he moved to Irving, Texas and began working at the Corporate Office of Showbiz Pizza.

On March 8, 1980 Charlie was united in marriage to Leta Marie (Sweatman) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After over 16 years of employment with Showbiz Pizza Charlie became disabled and was forced into retirement. In 1988 Charlie and Leta adopted their daughter Christina. Charlie and Leta moved to Biloxi, Mississippi in 2001; where they have continued to make their home until August of 2003. At that time they moved to Mannford, Oklahoma.

Charlie loved to cook as well as fish; he also loved the farm life which would include tending to his gardening, growing tomatoes, onions and other vegetables. Charlie also loved to watch the daytime game show The Price is Right. He also for over seven years figure 8 raced.

Charlie passed away Wednesday October 5, 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years 1 month and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife Leta of the home; four daughters Brenda Kay Brown of Mannford, Oklahoma; Kathy Reed of Mannford, Oklahoma; Joanna Pierce of Mannford, Oklahoma; Christina Whitworth of Mannford, Oklahoma; three sisters Beverly of Pawnee, Oklahoma; Carla of Pawnee, Oklahoma; Leona of Arizona; step mother Evelyn Whitworth of Pawnee, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Doug, David, Jordan, Dalton, Patience, Timmy, T.J., Kaleigh, his uncle Tobe Madewell and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Manuel Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
