Formal services for Charles Owen Wilson, 78 of Hominy, Oklahoma will be held at a later date. The body was cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland. Charles Owen Wilson passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 78. Charlie was born November 10, 1930, in Hominy, Oklahoma the son of Elbert and Jamie (Owens) Wilson. Charlie began his education in Hominy and later graduated with the Class of 1948 from Hominy High School. After graduation Charlie began working in the oil field for Bay Oil Company as a tool dresser. He later joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War. At the completion of his enlistment Charlie returned to Hominy and returned to working in the oil industry. He later moved to California and accepted employment with Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In 1969, Charlie returned to Hominy and then gained employment working as a drilling operations foreman in Libya, Bogota as well as China. In the late 1980Ãs Charlie retired and returned to Hominy where he has continued to live. Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing you could always count on him at Osage Point relaxing and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson Jacob who was a major part of his life. Jacob led Charlie to the Lord on September 13, 2008 which was a great accomplishement. Survivors are his daughter Jamie Brooks of Hominy, Oklahoma, son Jeff Wilson of Antich, California, one grandson Jacob Kane Brooks of Hominy, Oklahoma, one granddaughter Brooke Wilson of Antioch, California as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Jamie (Owens) Wilson, father Elbert Wilson and his brother Bob Wilson.
