Charles Jacob ìJakeî Vaughn was born March 24, 1989 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Charles Willis Vaughn, Jr. and Angie (Falkner) Vaughn. Jake was raised and attended school in Cleveland. From his early childhood, Jake was involved with beautiful baby competitions, winning numerous events. This involvement led to his actually working for the Linda Laymen Modeling Agency in Tulsa throughout his youth. His photograph was featured on a billboard on the Broken Arrow Expressway in Tulsa for several months. As a youngster, Jacob assisted his mother in teaching CPR classes to Pawnee and Osage County lifeguards. Learning the skills of an automobile mechanic at a young age from his father; led to Jacob accepting employment with BobÃs Auto after completion of his education. Additionally he worked in the ceramic tile installation business for a while before accepting a job as a roustabout with Jerry Shipman in the oilfield. Jake was described by his family and friends as being big hearted, sweet, honest, helpful and full of life. He was known to help anyone in need, even a complete stranger. His hobbies included hunting, camping and fishing and he dreamed of having his own fishing show on television. Additionally, Jacob loved cars, driving fast and with the music from the carÃs sound system blaring. It was said you could hear him coming long before you could see him. He enjoyed all types of music including country and rock, but especially liked 70Ãs and 80Ãs era rock. He also liked working on automobiles and was a quite accomplished mechanic; with very little that he couldnÃt fix. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his many friends and family. Jacob passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of nineteen. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Willis Vaughn, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Angie Kay Vaughn, of Spiro, Oklahoma; brother, Michael David Sisson of Cleveland, Oklahoma; uncle and his wife, Gaylen Cole and Stacey Vaughn of Cleveland, Oklahoma; aunt, Vicki Vaughn of Jennings, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Charles Willis Sr. and Zelta Bea Vaughn of Jennings, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother, Alice Neighbors of Spiro, Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Nikki Allen of Spiro, Oklahoma, Ted Faulkner of Hominy, Oklahoma, Terry Rader of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chris Faulkner of Hominy, Oklahoma, Pat Faulkner of Cleveland, Oklahoma , numerous cousins including, Lucas and Caitlyn Vaughn, Ashley Gill, Brian May, Amber Cox, Dalton Faulkner, Jeremey Collins, Chris Faulkner, Jr., Nicholas Faulkner and Josh Irvin; special friend, Alley Turner; a close friend, Jeff "Yogi" Ogram of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and his special friend and companion, a Jack Russell Terrier, Pete. Church Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
