Charles Glenn Maharrey

Charles Glenn Maharrey, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Cleveland Area Hospital at the age of 48 years 8 months and 24 days. Glenn was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on April 3, 1962. He was the son of Charles Edward and Frances Nell (Province) Maharrey. As a young boy Glenn began his education in Clarksdale. At the age of nine, Glenn moved with his family to the Ft. Worth, Texas area. In May of 1981, Glenn graduated high school from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas. Following graduation Glenn joined the United States Army. He began his basic training in Ft. Polk, Louisiana. Following his discharge Glenn returned to the Tulsa area. During this time Glenn worked in the surrounding area before moving to Sapulpa. In 1990, Glenn moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where he has continued to reside. While living in Cleveland Glenn has worked in several capacities. He would mostly help people with repairs as well as up keep of their homes without any pay. Glenn also worked as a saddle and tack maker for Casa Dosa for many years. Glenn was a very giving man in many ways; always wanting to help people without the expectation of payment for his services. One of the many trips that Glenn took that he enjoyed most was going back to where he grew up in Mississippi and reminiscing about his younger days. Glenn is described as an ìexceptional man willing to do for others.î Survivors are his friend Edwin Peterman of Cleveland, mother Frances Bassinger of Laguna Park, Texas, three sisters Kay Sigler of Denton, Texas, Tammy Swensen of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Brenda Miller of Ft. Worth, Texas as well as many other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Glenn was preceded in death by his father Charles Edward Maharrey. Church services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Westport Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Earley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
