Charles Edwin "Chas" "Moe" Waresback was very proud of his Native American heritage. He was born on October 25, 1946 into the Cherokee and Osage tribal lineage. On November 3, 2011 he was born into the eternal tribe of the Lion of Judah. In Ephesians 5:21-33, Paul compares marriage to Christ and the Church. Chas took his marriage vows seriously and loved his wife B J, as he understood Christ's love for the Church. Chas and B J were married on April 17, 1980, completing over 31 1/2 years of marriage. Chas now has a greater understanding of the marriage of Christ and the Church and is soon attending the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. He is experiencing what it means to be the Bride of Christ. Colossians 1:16 reads, "For by Jesus Christ were all things created, that are in heaven and earth, visible and invisible..." Chas was like Jesus in that he was very creative. He was a well sought out interior decorator. He loved art and all things related his Native American and Western Heritage. The creativity that Chas experienced on this earth was limited to his talents, his training, and his opportunities, but now in heaven there are no limitations on his creative abilities; and perhaps providing Jesus with his personal expertise in preparing the eternal home for himself and B J. Chas loved visiting antique stores and collecting Western memorabilia, such as Buffalo Bill, John Wayne and Bonanza artifacts and anything to do with buffaloes. He seemed to admire the ruggedness, strength, deceptive speed and agility of the buffalo. The buffalo herds were often called the "cattle of thunder: because of the deafening noise a herd of buffalo made and because of the rumble in the ground. Another reason may be that Chas was affectionately known as the "Apostle of Thunder" by his ministry colleagues. Chas enjoyed watching television shows, and movies of Western heroes, such as John Wayne, Paladin, and the Cartwright boys. He also honored the heroes of faith -- Paul, Peter, Abraham, David and the Old Testament Prophets. Mostly he honored the Lord Jesus Christ, by bowing his knee and confessing Jesus as Lord. Like Chas' heroes of the West, Chas endeavored to rid the world of evil and injustice with his ministry. Doing what he thought was the "right" and "good" thing to honor his ultimate hero, Jesus. Chas took seriously the charge Paul gave to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:5, "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Chas was mentally intelligent--he read, he studied, he researched Scripture and knowledgeable authors. He was spiritually gifted. God used Chas in all the Gifts of the Spirit as recorded in 1 Corinthians 12 in his earthly ministry. He had high standards for himself and continues to learn and grow in the very presence of Truth, Himself. Chas was a warrior in the natural world. He had his black belt in karate. He was a team sergeant in the Kansas City Police Department where he trained men for SWATZ team. Chas was also a warrior in the spiritual world. He often engaged in spiritual warfare for the souls of people and for his and B J's safety and ministry. He continued to serve as a heavenly warrior in the armies of heaven. Chas was a man of peace and love. He loved his wife, B J and his kids, Jamie and Robert, who shared their lives together for nearly a year. During this time Chas found a way of soothing tense situations and stirred up emotions by asking, "Do you want a hug?" It soon not only became a symbol of forgiveness and acceptance, but a happy ritual for the family. Chas placed on his ministry card Matthew 19:26b, "....with God all things are possible." Although his earthly body had become a prison all things became possible on Thursday, November 2, 2011 when God gave Chas a new body. As a son of God and an heir of God, Chas is enjoying his inheritance, walking, running, talking, learning, eating and drinking, but most of all loving and being loved. Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Osage Cemetery with Chaplain Marvel Baron officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association - Oklahoma and Arkansas Chapter, Chapter Headquarters ñ Tulsa, 6465 South Yale, Suite 312, Tulsa, Oklahoma' 74136.
