Charlie was born November 20, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Basil Frances and Maxine (Brownbridge) Fixmer. As a young child Charlie was raised and received his education in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School. Soon after high school in 1965 Charlie joined the United States Naval Reserve. Shortly after joining Charlie was ordered to active duty. He was later discharged due to medical reasons on Oct 21, 1966.
After Charlie returned he began working in the Glass Industry. On April 14, 1967 he was united in marriage to Lola Mae Whiles in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They made their initial home in Tulsa and later moved to Cleveland in 1972. At that time Charlie opened his own business in Cleveland called Cleveland Auto and Plate Glass with his partner James Weatherford. Charlie and James continued to operate the business until he was no longer able due to back problems. At that time Charlie accepted employment with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Charlie worked at the Cimarron entrance for over 20 years before retiring in 1997.
Charlie knew no strangers he also loved playing dominoes and yahtzee with his family and friends. He was always near a phone so that he was able to call to just say hello, recent news or to just tell you one of his many jokes. You could always hear Charlie in the crowd of a football game rooting on his son Mike hollering ìThatÃs my Boyî expect when he made a mistake then he would holler That's Lola's Boy. Charlie had the biggest heart of any man giving to his family and friends. Charlie was also proud of his family as well as a dedicated Christian giving his life to the Lord again in 2001.
