Funeral services for Cecil Glenn Sissom will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Doug Withiam officiating.
Glenn Sissom, a long time resident of Jennings was born December 25, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Hubert Cecil and Millie Roberta (McGuire) Sissom. Glenn was raised and received his education in the Norfolk Area, between Yale and Cushing, Oklahoma. Glenn attended school in Yale where he later graduated. Soon after high school Glenn joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for three years. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army, Glenn returned to Cushing. Where he began working in the oil industry. Glenn continued working in the oil field for many years. At that time Glenn was also doing what he loved most playing the guitar, singing and writing songs. On September 11, 2001 Glenn accepted employment with Correction Corporation of America (CCA). Glenn worked at the Cushing Facility for several months until he was diagnosed with cancer. At that time Glenn retired due to his medical condition.
Glenn loved being with his family and friends as well as playing the guitar, writing music, near the lake and tinkering with old cars.
Glenn Sissom passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 52 years 3 months and 6 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Guy Lloyd and a son Terry Eugene.
Survived by his wife Teresa Lynn Laney Sissom of the home; children Shiloh Sissom of the home; Carrie Sissom of Hominy, Oklahoma; Eva Marie Sissom of Hominy, Oklahoma; William Sissom of Jennings, Oklahoma; Sherry Huskey of Yale, Oklahoma; Amanda Huskey of Yale, Oklahoma; Toni Huskey of Arkansas; brothers David Sissom of Cushing, Oklahoma; Doug Sissom of Hodgen, Oklahoma; sister Roberta Ann Gann of Jennings, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Kimberleigh Sissom of Jennings, Oklahoma; Wesley Sissom of Jennings, Oklahoma; David Lee Huskey of Yale, Oklahoma; Tiffany Morgan of Yale, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
