While traveling, Carolyn asked about a radio playing in the bus and he indicated that he had one in his duffle bag and inquired if she liked to listen to basketball; thus starting a romance that lasted over forty-six years. On December 12, 1974, Carolyn, Johnnie and the family returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma where Wendy, Lee and Adam were raised and received their education. At that time Carolyn gained employment with Palace Drug and later began working for the Cleveland Schools in the cafateria. She was the lunch lady from 1978 till 1984 at the junior high as well as the high school. In 1984, Carolyn accepted a position as bookeeper for the Cleveland Bank where she worked until 2008. Carolyn loved life. She also loved her family, children, grandchildren and friends very much. Carolyn loved to travel taking vacations to Branson, Eureka Springs and always talked about the cruise she took with her friends to Cozumel, Jamaica and the Grand Caymans. Friday and Saturday nights were always a blast at her home playing cards with her friends. Carolyn also enjoyed playing Bunko and working on ceramics. Most of all in life Carolyn loved her Lord and Saviour and was very devoted to her church and church family.
