Carol Taylor, 65, lifelong resident of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at her home with her family by her side.
Carol Estilene was born March 18, 1943 in Hominy, Oklahoma the daughter of William Marlar and Mamie Louise (Alexander) Garrison. Carol grew up and attended school in Hominy where she completed her education. On June 12, 1962, she was united to George Taylor, Jr. in Hominy. Shortly after their marriage Carol and George moved throughout the United States residing in Minnesota, Washington, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. During the time George was working on the pipeline. They always have considered Hominy their home and returned in 1966. Carol and George owned and operated the Mountain Dew Bar from 1977 till 1984. She has also worked at Munsingwear, Sonic, the Silver Dollar Cafe as well as several other local food establishments.
Carol was a woman that took great pride in her family especially her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed plaing bingo and going to the casino and "playing cards with the big shots."
Survivors include her mother Mamie Louise Carl, husband George Taylor of the home, daughter Kim Moseley of Hominy, Oklahoma, Trey Taylor of Hominy, Oklahoma, two brothers Claud Garrison of Tusla, Oklahoma, Bobby Cooper of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, six sisters Pat Dawson of Hutchinson, Kansas, Sharon Hopper of Hominy, Oklahoma, Joie Ratliff of Hominy, Oklahoma, Brenda Smith of Hallett, Oklahoma, Deanna Bohard of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Paula Potts of Hominy, Oklahoma, two grandchildren Anna Taylor and Robbie Moseley, one great grandson Keiton Taylor, aunt Ruby Miller of Hominy, Oklahoma, brother in law Richard Taylor of Hominy, Oklahoma, sister in law Molly Stephens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.. She was preceded in death by father William Marlar Garrison.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 am September 5, 2008 in the sanctuary of the First Assembly of God Church in Hominy with Rev. Clifton Phelps and Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Following the services the body will be cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
