Carol Anne Clements, longtime resident of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Friday, June 9, 2017, at the age of 77 years.
Carol was born August 5, 1939, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ralph and Louella Jewell (Harrison) Givens. As a young girl, Carol was raised and attended school in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Following the completion of her education Carol was united in marriage on June 19, 1955 to Wade Clements. They established their home in Hominy, Oklahoma where they have continued to reside. Carol worked for many years as a secretary for many local places including Osage Nation, Hominy Sale Barn, Bill Walls and Spess Oil where she retired from in the early 2000’s.
Carol loved being outdoors and being around people. She always loved being around children and helping others. She was a member of the Bad Girls Riding Club, American Quarter Horse Association, Oklahoma Buckskin Association as well as the Palomino Horse Association. Carol was also a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her loving husband Wade of the home; nephews Eddie Bevard of Hominy, Oklahoma, David Bevard of Hominy, Oklahoma, niece Kimanda Ballard of Skiatook, Oklahoma, great niece Ravyn Bevard and Amity Bevard, great nephews Gino Bevard and Levi Bevard; sister Mary Jane Cooper of Skiatook, Oklahoma; brother Ed Givens and Willa of California and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at the Calvary Worship Center with Jerald Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with services under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 pm till 7 pm or online at www.chapman-black.com.
