Calvin Ray Hogan

Calvin Ray Hogan was born July 24, 1947, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was the son of Calvin and Billie R. (Rashall) Hogan. As a young boy Calvin was raised in Kansas City where he began kindergarten. Later in 1955, he moved with his parents to Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his time in school Calvin attended Springdale Elementary, William Penn Elementary and Monroe Junior High. In 1965, Calvin graduated high school from Nathan Hale. Soon after high school Calvin joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for nearly four years during the Vietnam Conflict over 12 months in country. Following his honorable discharge; Calvin returned to the United States and accepted employment in California with Lockheed Martin. During his time in California Calvin resided in Lancaster and Little Rock, California before suffering injuries following a motorcycle accident. Upon his discharge from the hospital Calvin returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later after rehabilitation Calvin accepted employment with Shangri-La where he worked as the head of housekeeping for several years. Mr. Hogan passed from this life on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years 4 months and 21 days. Survivors are his sister Marilyn K. and Jerry Stevenson of Cleveland, Oklahoma, two nieces Melanie Hunter of Owasso, Oklahoma and Allison Hunter of Daytona Beach, Florida as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Hogan as well as his mother Billie R. (Rashall) Hogan. Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm, Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery next to his parents under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
