Bud went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 24, 2017, at the St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bud was born June 29, 1940, in Fairfax, Oklahoma. He was the son of Donovan Albert and Lucille Beatrice (Tramel) Teter. The family moved to several places throughout his time growing up, and Bud finished his education in Jenks, Oklahoma graduating in1959. Following graduation, Bud was united in marriage to Joyce Martin on May 25, 1962, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Bud and Joyce remained in Jenks for a short time. During that time, he was employed at Davis Equipment. In 1967, Bud moved his family to Cleveland, Oklahoma. He gained employment at Kerr McGee. Bud also attended Missouri Auction School and began helping his uncle auctioning real estate.

Following the closure of Kerr McGee, Bud began working as a carpenter. He worked for Frank Horine as well as Parish Meadors. He started as a framer and later progressed to a trim/finish carpenter. You could always count on if Bud built it, it was exact and precise. In 1965, Bud ventured into auctioneering with his Uncle Amos and longtime friend Riley Norton. Bud then decided that he would go to real estate school so he could do auctions and estate sales. Bud was very well respected and known in the area as an honest auctioneer. Bud served many groups in the area such as the Boy Scouts, FFA and many school activities which helped raise funds to operate the organizations. Bud was nominated as an honorary member of the Cleveland FFA for his time and work for the group.

Being outdoors was a time that Bud enjoyed. Hunting was something he loved to do. Coon hunting, squirrel hunting, bow fishing seemed to always encompass family and friends as well as a learning experience. Rodeo was another activity which Bud seemed to involve his family. From cattle drives, roping events to ranch rodeos with his son in laws. The Redbud Ranch Rodeo Team which consisted of Bud, Jeff, Doug and Scott Lemmons. Bud had a sense of expectations of people when it came to training horses. He was considered as horse whisperer and expected others to do the same. He taught numerous kids to ride as well as rope. Some of the most wonderful times of his life were spent on the cattle drives for the Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo with this wife and grandkids. He would always give you advice on things without knowing it was orders. If you were to ask about medical advise Bud would relate the answer to some kind of horse medicine. Bud was an excellent listener he was never too quick to answer because he was very thoughtful of others and never spoke poorly of anyone; “if you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything at all.”

Bud was a wonderful father. He taught his family to read the Bible and instill in them the reasons for attending church. Christmas time was always predicated on the Christmas Story from the Bible and pray before opening presents. He was recently asked about his faith. Bud’s response was he was a “born again baptized Baptist who loved the Lord.”
