Bruce Leon Fanning, Sr.

Bruce Leon Fanning, Sr., passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the age of 82 years Bruce was born March 16, 1930 in Hallett, OK. He was the son of Benjamin Dow and Mary Elizabeth (Huff) Fanning. Bruce was raised in the Hallett and Jennings area and later graduated from Jennings High School. On April 25, 1958, Bruce was united in marriage to Anna Mae and to that union there are three children: Bruce, Jr., Anna Marie and Janet Lynn. Bruce and Anna later moved to Tulsa where they resided for many years. Bruce gained employment with McDonnell Douglas in the early 60ís and continued working there until his retirement in 1993. In 1988, Bruce and Anna moved to Jennings where he has continued to reside. Following the death of Anna in 2000, Bruce was later united in marriage to Wanda Olene Nutall on July 6, 2002. After Bruce was married to Wanda the two began traveling. They would visit South Texas during the winter months and return home to Jennings in the summers. Bruce always enjoyed working around the house. He also loved to fish and be with his family which meant so much to him. Survivors are his wife Wanda of the home, Bruce Fanning, Jr. of Turley, Oklahoma, Marie Morris of Warner, Oklahoma, Janet Hilderbrand of Ketchum, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Jeff, Angie, Jeramiah, Samuel, six great grandchildren Alyssa, Peyton, Brighton, Jaedon, Anna, Toni and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. In addition to his parents Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae, five brothers, Carl Fanning, George Fanning, Edward Harruff, Bobby Harruff, Samuel Harruff, four sisters Bernice Helfenbein, Dorothy Bailey, Evelyn Faye Bickle and Ethel Bledsaw. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Friendship Community Church in Mannford, OK with Pastors Delores and Bill Terrell officiating.
