Brett Loren Lamkin

Brett Loren Lamkin, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years old.

Brett was born July 13, 1967, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the son of Robert Lee and Cheryl Lea (Atkins) Lamkin. At a young age Brett moved with his family to the Prue area where he began attending kindergarten. He later began attending school in Cleveland where he graduated high school with the Class of 1985. During his time growing up Brett was very active in little league baseball. Playing baseball as a kid was a stepping stone for his high school years. Brett was an outstanding shortstop for the Cleveland Tigers. He was nominated several times All District, All State and Tulsa World Pick as a high school short stop.

Following high school, Brett worked for his dad as a mechanic until 2001. He then began working for Bama Pie before accepting a position with Hillcrest Hospital.

Brett had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being around others. He was a very giving person, always very happy and kind to others. Brett was an avid Dallas Cowboy, Cubs and Sooner fan.

Survivors are his father Bob Lamkin and Marsha of Cleveland, Oklahoma, mother Cheryl Lamkin, siblings Brad Lamkin and Stacy of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Trisha Azar and Joe of Long Beach, California, Jimmy Gramblin and Alicia of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Amber Robbins and Rob of Cleveland, Oklahoma, paternal grandmother Doris Lamkin of Cleveland, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Clifford Lamkin, maternal grandparents Leroy and Jobie Atkins.

No public services are planned and arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
