Brenda Lee Gibson, 81, of Tulsa, OK passed from this life on Sunday evening, April 3, 2022 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 30, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mardin Sern and Elnora (Wilson) Lorentzen, she was raised and received her education in California and graduated from Brea High School. Brenda was a very spirited and adventurous soul and in 1972 she and her family moved to Cleveland, OK where she quickly became a staple in the community. Always the active person, she started the 4-H horse program in Pawnee county and was an active member of the Pinto Horse Association. Her long red hair earned her the nickname "Oklahoma Red" and she truly was a sight to behold. Paired with her infectious smile and witty sense of humor she had many friends and never met a stranger. In 1989 she moved to Tulsa and worked as an office administrator for Bee Line Traffic Control for many years. It was in Tulsa where she met her husband William C. (Bill) Gibson and in 2002 they were united in marriage at Lake Tahoe, California. They shared many blissful years of love and laughter filled with dancing and travelling. Brenda had many lifelong friends and was an excellent storyteller. She was a beautifully strong and powerful woman and perfected many skills throughout her life, especially the skill of painting. She was incredibly artistic, in life and with her paintings. Breathing life and love in everything she did, she was always willing to lend a hand or offer her famous words of wisdom.

Those that survive and hold cherished memories are her husband of 20 years – Bill C. Gibson; two daughters – Tamra Lee Turner of Marshfield, MO, Debra Ann Bowles and Son-In-Law Jeff Bowles of Cleveland, OK - Her brother Clyde Lorentzen and wife Linda, of California and her sister Vicky Canfield and husband Gene, also of California. Also surviving are her five grandchildren – Keith Grant, Jennifer Dudley and husband John, Stacy Campbell, Jessica Marshall and husband Billy, and Matthew Bowles; and eight great grandchildren – Skyler, Molly, Jack, Jaysah, Logan, Ruby, Andrew and Jake. Brenda had a lot of extended family members in California and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on April 30th, 2022 at her daughter Debbie's home in Cleveland, Oklahoma, 362490 E Highway 64, 74020 (918-399-7210). Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, OK
