Bobby Royce Smith, 83, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Hillcrest Medical Center.
Bob was born July 29, 1934, in McClain County, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Wesley and Sarah Quimby (Manning) Smith. Following graduation from high school Bob was united in marriage to Dora Lee Davis on July 12, 1956 in Cleveland, County, Oklahoma. Bob then joined the United States Army. The couple established their home in the Oklahoma City area where Bob was employed with the Veterans Hospital. He also served his county as a U.S. Army Reservist until his retirement on July 29, 1994. Bob and Dora later moved to Cleveland where they have continued to reside.
Survivors are his wife Dora of the home, one son David Smith and his wife Eddi of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Mildred Logan of Macomb, Oklahoma; daughter in law Lindy Thomas; six grandchildren Luna and Dallas King, Natasha Schroeder, Jeffrey Smith, D.R. and Crickett Smith, Dylan Thomas, Dakota Walton, fourteen great grandchildren Salena, Hayli, Dallas Jr., Carley, Riley, Kamryn, Kaylee, Maddox, Levi, Gabby, Tinlea, Bobby Dino, Keileigh, Kindle and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Lee Smith, Sr, six brothers and four sisters.
The body was cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at a later date. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
